Atari Punk Console
So this is my second favorite thing I got for Christmas this year. My Atari Punk Console is embedded in an Altoids tin, but I have seen them encased in most everything. Plug your amp into the 1/4” socket and enjoy the digitized noise. Two knobs control the sound. You can find a premade version on Etsy and Ebay. If your handy with a soldering iron you can find kits at a number of places (here’s one).

The Atari 7800 works! Here’s a mediocre-to-poor photo of “Food Fight,” one of the great games of all time, working perfectly on my HDTV.

Atari 2600 videogames by manufacturer (part 1 of 2)

Imagic, Parker Brothers, US Games
Atari, Tigervision
M Network (Mattel), Bomb, Games By Apollo

There are a few more makers of games than the 16 you’ll see in these two posts, but either I don’t have any of their games or the maker is unnamed.

Sega, 20th Century (as in Fox), CBS (as in CBS)
Activision, Spectravision
Data Age, Coleco, homebrew

“Homebrew” refers to people coding their own games and then releasing them either in free ROM form (for emulators) or on cartridge (typically in recycled Atari cases) for sale. Edtris is reportedly the first homebrew produced after Atari itself stopped making games around 1990, and a good number more — many of which have been made into cartridge form — are now available.
